The Public Relations Clinic organized by the Public Relations Unit, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command at every quarter is one of its public engagement's mechanisms initiated to consistently build the Corps' image, promote and showcase the NSCDC as an intellectually, strategically and operationally capacitated agency in line with the Vision, Mission Statement and the Core Values laid down by its Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD., mni, OFR, to place the Corps as one of the best security agencies in Africa and across the World .
The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, Professor Adedeji Oyenuga , PhD., DFCSS ( Professor of Criminology , Sociology and Cyber Crime from Lagos State University ), Dr Waziri Adisa ( Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminology from University of Lagos ), Mrs Eniola Mayowa FNIPR ( Vice Chairman Nigeria Institute of Public Relations Lagos State Chapter ), Mr Abiodun Oseni ( USA Army Veteran ), Dr Ojikutu Adeniyi ( former President, Computer Village Association ), Mr Michael Boniface ( Sterling Bank CSO ), Hon Olamilekan Ibrahim, Former Chairman Coker Aguda LCDA, Mrs Mary Omonoyan, PRO ICPC, Miss Cyndy Ezeh, Panel Moderator ( On Air Personality with Rave TV ) and Panelists from various relevant agencies such as ; State Security Service, Fiber One, ICPC, NCoS, FFS and many more top the lead speakers at the just concluded NSCDC Lagos Public Relations Clinic. The CEO of Badinson Securities Limited, Mr Matthew Ibadin and the GT Pensions Managers led by Mr Michael Lafulu were also present at the event, which held at the Conference Hall, Ministry of Works, Opp., TBS, Lagos yesterday, Tuesday, 2nd December, 2025.
The forum has continued to remain a formidable platform for experts and a learning curve for personnel ( participants ) of the service drawn from various formations across the state. The forum is also a platform for intellectual and operational capacity development given the privileged opportunity to listen to professionals and experts from relevant institutions in line with the selected theme of discussion.
The sixth (6th) Edition of the NSCDC Lagos PR Clinic, which held yesterday, Tuesday, was graced by the NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro ably represented by Deputy Commandant of Corps Afuye Toyin. It also had distinguished Professor Adedeji Oyenuga, who delivered a lead lecture at the event on the theme,"Cyber Security : A Panacea to Ending Economic Sabotage in Nigeria : The Role of NSCDC." The theme was further discussed by the Lead Discussant, Dr Waziri Adisa.
The representative of the Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro ably represented by DCC Afuye Toyin reiterated the role of the NSCDC in protecting assets and infrastructure as one of the Corps' major mandates . He further affirmed that the deployment of cyber security tools, which is technologically inclined can not be overemphasized in the fight against vandalism of our assets and infrastructure. He said that the NSCDC has continued to invest in training and retraining of personnel on the use of modern technologies and gadgets that are capable of adding its intelligence and operational strategies .
The speakers charted wys on how the Corps can deploy cyber security to effect its core mandates such as; the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, Marine and Infrastructure Protection, Private Security Architecture, Mining and Mineral Resources' Protection of the country and by so doing end economic sabotage.
Professor Oyenuga called on the NSCDC to collaborate with other relevant institutions in the cyber security industry, carry out public awareness programmes , provide training in cyber security for personnel amongst others in a bid to effectively deploy cyber security in protecting assets et ce tera .
Dr Adisa, on the other hand believes that parts of landmark solutions to our pressing problems wil be the expansion of the employment net in all sectors, creation of more opportunities for our young people and creating more enabling environment et ce tera .
The summary of the event was also articulately delivered , by the Area B Commander, Assistant Commandant of Corps Michael Anerunoye. He charged participants to take advantage of the notes taken from the Clinic by exhibiting the skills on the field while carrying out their operational and administrative duties in their various formations .
The PR Clinic has gathered and shapened many personnel of the NSCDC, security services and the general public in Lagos State on various thematic areas that are apt and keenly related to the Corps' Mandate, Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP ), Code of Conduct, Policy Directives and Extant Laws of the land.
