Lagos Police Command Begins Screening Exercise for Ongoing Nationwide 50,000 Constables Recruitment Exercise
The Lagos State Police Command has commenced the physical and credentials screening exercise for applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables, with the exercise taking place at the Police College Ikeja in Ikeja, Lagos State.

This development was disclosed today, March 9, 2026, by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, who confirmed that the screening exercise forms part of the nationwide recruitment process into the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the Police spokesperson, shortlisted applicants are required to visit the official recruitment portal to check their application status and print the necessary documents ahead of their scheduled screening date.
Applicants are expected to strictly adhere to the date indicated on their invitation slips and present themselves at the screening venue accordingly.
“The Lagos State Police Command informs applicants that the physical and credentials screening for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force has commenced today, March 9, 2026, at the Police College Ikeja,” the statement noted.
The screening exercise is expected to run for several weeks as candidates are assessed based on physical fitness and verification of credentials.
Authorities also announced that the approved dress code for applicants includes white canvas shoes, white T-shirt, white shorts, and white stockings, which must be worn during the exercise.
Candidates are required to present the following documents at the screening venue:
Application submission slip
Physical screening form
Invitation slip with table number
Credentials screening form
National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card
O-Level certificates
Birth certificate or age declaration
Local Government or State of Origin certificate
Trade test results for specialist applicants
Guarantor’s form with passport photographs and other relevant credentials

The Command further warned that any applicant who fails to appear with the required documents, does not comply with the prescribed dress code, or appears outside the scheduled date will not be allowed to participate in the screening process.
The Police authorities also reiterated that the recruitment process is completely free of charge, urging members of the public and applicants to report any individual demanding payment in connection with the exercise.
The Lagos State Police Command therefore encouraged all shortlisted candidates to remain orderly, cooperate with officials, and comply with the established guidelines to ensure a smooth and transparent recruitment screening exercise.
