Vinod Obasa Takes Over as Agege LG Chairman Following Resignation of Azeez ‘Disco’

Leadership has shifted at the Agege Local Government as Hon. AbdulGaniyu Vinod Obasa has been confirmed as the substantive Chairman, following the voluntary resignation of Hon. Tunde Azeez, popularly known as ‘Disco’.

Hon. Azeez stepped down from office citing prolonged health challenges that have hindered his ability to discharge his official duties for several months. His resignation was formally communicated through a letter addressed to the legislative arm of the council.

At a plenary session, the legislative house acknowledged Hon. Azeez’s commitment and service to the people of Agege, extending heartfelt wishes for his speedy recovery and future endeavors. The chamber unanimously accepted his resignation, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing personal health and well-being in public service.

With the acceptance of his resignation, the council swiftly moved to ensure continuity in governance. Hon. AbdulGaniyu Vinod Obasa, who had served as Vice-Chairman and acted in Hon. Azeez’s stead during his absence, was unanimously approved as the new substantive Chairman.

Hon. Vinod Obasa, son of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has been praised for providing stable leadership during the former chairman’s period of illness.

The transition marks a continued commitment to efficient service delivery and stable governance in Agege, ensuring that development strides and community projects remain uninterrupted.
