Lagos Police Announce Major Crime-Fighting Successes in November

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has announced significant operational breakthroughs recorded by the Command in November 2025. The Commissioner made the disclosure yesterday during a press briefing held at the State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, where he presented a comprehensive account of arrests, recoveries, and ongoing investigations aimed at enhancing security across the state.
According to CP Jimoh, the Command’s achievements were driven by intelligence-led operations, targeted raids, sustained surveillance, and rapid tactical interventions, which together disrupted multiple criminal networks operating within Lagos and adjoining states.
A total of 10 vehicles and one motorcycle were recovered during coordinated operations across the state. The vehicles, taken through armed robbery, fraudulent conversion, smuggling, and other criminal methods, include a white Toyota Hilux, a white Range Rover SUV, a black Toyota Land Cruiser suspected to have been smuggled, a silver Lexus GX460, a silver Honda CR-V linked to an interstate robbery gang, two Toyota Corolla models, an ash Lexus ES350, a Toyota Highlander, and a Boxer Bajaj motorcycle.
The Commissioner noted that the recoveries were made possible through meticulous investigations and actionable intelligence. Efforts are ongoing to authenticate ownership before returning the vehicles to their rightful owners.
The Commissioner also confirmed the arrest of several suspected armed robbers believed to be involved in conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery, assault, and threats to life. Items recovered from the suspects include:
* Six firearms, including cut-to-size guns and locally made pistols
* Multiple live cartridges
* A machete, battle axe, and assault dagger
* Nigerian military camouflage and charms
* Fake United States currency amounting to $4,000
CP Jimoh described the recovery of these weapons as a significant blow to criminal gangs, stating that the seizures have “substantially weakened the operational capacity of violent groups targeting residents of Lagos.”
Several suspects are currently assisting investigators, with detectives working to identify accomplices and dismantle wider networks connected to the criminal activities. Ongoing probes are also examining the origins of the fake currency, the use of military camouflage for illicit operations, and the structure of interstate vehicle-snatching syndicates.
The Police Command is further reviewing vulnerabilities in car-hire arrangements and informal transport services, which CP Jimoh said are increasingly exploited by criminal elements.
Reaffirming the Command’s dedication to maintaining order, CP Jimoh assured residents that intensified security operations would continue throughout the festive season and beyond.
“Our focus remains the safety and security of Lagosians,” he said. “We will sustain momentum, deepen intelligence-sharing, and ensure that criminal activities are detected and neutralized before they threaten public peace.”
The Commissioner applauded the cooperation of members of the public and urged continued vigilance, promising that the Command would remain transparent and proactive in its efforts to secure the state.
