Lagos Commissioner of Police Decorates Newly Promoted Senior Police Officers, Reaffirms Commitment to Merit-Based Growth

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated a new set of senior officers recently elevated across the Nigeria Police Force, in line with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s directive to strengthen professionalism and reward excellence in policing.
The decoration event, held at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, was witnessed by senior officers, dignitaries and proud family members of the beneficiaries. The promotions, facilitated by the Police Service Commission, spanned ranks from Superintendent to Chief Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendent to Superintendent, and confirmation of Assistant Superintendents.
Addressing the officers on behalf of the IGP, CP Olohundare commended their dedication, noting that each elevation represents increased responsibility and a higher call to service. He encouraged the newly promoted officers to remain steadfast in upholding discipline, accountability, and operational integrity as the Force intensifies efforts to enhance public safety and security across Lagos State.
Among those decorated were CSP Agba Anna, DPO Ajao Estate; CSP Jacob Gana Jiya, DPO Ilemba-Hausa; CSP Hadiza Jidda, DPO Ogombo; CSP Amoda Fatai, DCO Ikeja; CSP Udomfiok Emmanuel, 2IC Gender; CSP Aroloye Bamikole, DPO Agbowa; and CSP Momoh Kamaldeen, DPO Apapa.
In their remarks, the newly promoted officers expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for the recognition. They pledged to justify their elevation by reinforcing strategic policing initiatives and improving community-focused security operations in Lagos.
Confirming the development, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, reaffirmed that the promotion reflects the Force’s commitment to merit and capability. He also congratulated the officers on behalf of the command, expressing confidence in their capacity to strengthen policing duties across the state.
Reiterating his leadership mission, CP Olohundare assured Lagos residents of a Command anchored on discipline, professionalism and proactive policing. He urged the newly elevated officers to demonstrate exemplary performance in their new roles and continue contributing meaningfully to peace and security in Lagos.
