Ogba Grammar School Old Students of 1987 Set across the world meets, Honors Alma Mater with Rehabilitation Project and School Teachers Awards Gala

Lagos, Nigeria – The Ogba Grammar School Old Students Association, 1987 Set, concluded their three-day program with a grand finale held at the Women Development Centre in the bustling Pen Cinema axis of Agege, Lagos State. The event, which took place from the 12th to the 14th of April 2024, witnessed a remarkable display of camaraderie, nostalgia, and dedication to the alma mater. Day one which was Friday 12th April 2024 encompassed activities ranging from unveiling of rehabilitated school toilets and presentation of generating set to the school, workshop for the entire students, and ended with Jumaat prayer at Ogba Central Mosque. Day two engulfed members with the grand finale which held at Women Development Centre Agege with retrospect of school days at the maiden alumni rendezvous while day three was the thanksgiving service at Vibrant Baptist Church Ijaiye, Ogba.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a magnificent project which is the rehabilitation of over 20 dilapidated toilet facilities within the school premises. These facilities, which were previously in a state of disrepair, posed significant health hazards to the students and contributed to an unhealthy learning environment. The Principal of Ogba Grammar School expressed immense appreciation for the project, noting that it addressed a longstanding concern since her recent tenure commenced. She commended the 1987 Set for their remarkable initiative, stating that it has effectively eradicated the issues that once plagued the school.
In addition to the rehabilitation project, the Alumni Renzdezvous held during the event was a platform to honor five distinguished teachers who have made significant contributions to the school over the years. These teachers were presented with awards as a token of appreciation for their dedication and service to the institution.
The Alumni Renzdezvous was attended by notable dignitaries who are members of the association, representing diverse fields of practice. Alumni from across the country and the globe flew in to grace the memorable occasion, adding to the grandeur of the event. The atmosphere was filled with nostalgia as attendees reminisced about their school days, accompanied by old school music spun by DJ Boost and lively commentary from Comrade DJB, the event's compere.
The three-day program served as a testament to the enduring bonds forged at Ogba Grammar School and the commitment of its alumni to give back to their alma mater. As the event concluded, participants departed with a sense of pride in their collective achievements and a renewed determination to continue supporting the growth and development of their beloved school.
