"HONOUR TO WHOM IT IS DUE, PRAISE TO THOSE WHO DESERVES TO BE" |
| The man worthy of applause - Mr Segun Odunmbaku, Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA |
In an article currently going viral on social media, the Chief Executive of Ojodu News - a media outfit that propagates happenings within Ojodu Local council Development - Comrade Deji Adebayo has took to the press to release an article he tagged:
HUNDRED (100) DAYS IN OFFICE: A PLAUDIT TO THE ACTIVE AND PROACTIVE MAYOR OF OJODU LCDA, MR SEGUN ODUNMBAKU (DOS)
| A worthy award |
The article reads in part;
-_Yes, the future lies in the hands of today's young leaders_
- _Yes, the young can do it._
- _Yes, a young mayor has done it in Ojodu_
| DOS addressing stakeholders at a forum |
I'll like to as a background open up this article with the popular parlance of the Yoruba people which goes thus:
"Ojú tó máa báni kalẹ́, kò ní ti àárọ̀ ṣe ipin."
For fairness sake, I'll also go by the sayings of the Igbos which goes:
"Igbo: Ọ BỤRỤ NA Ị ENWEGHỊ ANYA Ọ BỤLA, ahapụla gị"
In English translations, it simply puts; IF YOU HAVE NO MISSION, leave it at that!
Literally, it means: The blind man who lacks eyes says that eyes stink.
Explanation: Don’t condemn the usefulness of something simply because you don’t have it.
In less than a hundred days in office, our eyes have seen, and for those who pretend not to have seen it, their hears must have heard it BUT if not, this article testifies of the people-centric activities of this new government of Ojodu Local Council. *A well deserved applause for the new Ojodu Mayor:*
We will recall that during the campaigns across communities and media platforms, Mr Odunmbaku promised in his manifestos enshrined in the H.E.Y.S agenda modelled in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; to make living in Ojodu worthwhile and to operate an open door policy which he - DOS - has practically exemplified to be possible.
Oh yes! the Ojodu mayor has indeed lived up to expectations and we can see him "walk the talk".
Revert to the shared link if you are still in doubt of the wonders that this young and proactive council mayor has put in place as released by his Chief Press Secretary: https://www.ojodunews.com.ng/2021/11/100-days-in-office-ojodu-council.html
This is what I suppose is the bedrock of good leadership and governance redefined. For he has by so doing epitomized the kind of administration he intends to run which indeed is an inclusive government. I'll repeat that "an eyes that would serve one until old age, won't be rheumy while one is young". This is wonderful in our sites as we are assured of better days ahead.
*An Illustrative Synopsis* :
"If the people must be made to pay taxes, as compulsory as it legally is, the people's welfare and security must as well be at the front burner of any administration."
Hence, the official opening of the *Rehabilitated Legislative Chamber* within the council as held yesterday, is not just to house the representatives from each wards in Ojodu LCDA but to host constituents with dire needs each time they visit the council. This indeed is a step in the right direction of adequacy in welfarism of the masses WHILE the donation of Security Patrol Vehicles (SPVs) to Police Divisions and Area G - situate in the council territory - will not just protect our territorial safe existence and integrity but will also aid swift actions on crimes and curtail insecurity which currently is the bane of this present day Nigerian society.
Government is a continuum, the new administration which has incurred assets and liabilities has stepped up its game by embarking of completion of ongoing projects by the previous regime of _Engr. Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro_ (ditto: Legislative Chamber, Administrative block et cetera.) and he has also embarked upon new projects with some close to execution stage. Rehabilitation of Primary health Care centres, road tarring projects, empowerment programmes among other initiatives that his administration has brought to bear leaves us amazed. Moreover, we must by no way forget the efforts of our heroes who fought for considerable development at the grassroots especially our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Jagaban); Former Governor of Lagos State and Next President of Nigeria (God's grace).

In closing, it is imperative to state that as awesome as we can behold the cosmopolitan achievements and performances of this astute administrator, there certainly will be naysayers who's wrongful thought may depict aspersion casting and 'leave them and let's see' syndrome. Suffice me to admonish our able and amiable mayor and his team to remain focused and steadfast with executing the job at hand without reneging on achieving set goals - both long and short term - for the sake of the common man anchoring on the public trust betrothed him by the good people of Ojodu LCDA at the last council polls.
Naysayers of this administration should have this from the Hausawas as earlier quoted:
"Makaho ya rasa ido, ya ce ido na wari"
Literal meaning: The blind man who lacks eyes says that eyes stink.
Explanation: Don’t condemn the usefulness of something simply because you don’t have it.
And to the council mayor aides and his closest allies, remember that:
"Ba don 'rigan domin' ba, da mutum ya mutu matsyaci"
Literal meaning: If it were not because of someone else’s influence, a man would die poor.
Explanation: No man is an island on his own. We all need the help of someone to climb to the heights we aspire for.

Let's do all that will make our party - All Progressives Congress - proud as this administration continue to render quality service and deliver on campaign promises to the masses through advancement in Health and Environment, Education, Youth and Social engagements cum Infrastructural development.
Recap: A LASTING EYE WILL NOT BE UNHEALTHY AT DAWN
Best wishes of a successful administration for our symbol - Mr. David Olusegun Odunmbaku (DOS)
