Lagos Police Invite Pastor Chris Okafor Over Alleged Sexual Offences, Breach of Peace

The Lagos State Police Command has formally invited Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries located in Ojodu Berger, to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, over allegations bordering on multiple rape, other sexual offences, and conducts likely to cause breach of public peace and breakdown of law and order in Lagos State.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, ANIPR, MIPRA, the cleric is expected to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID, Panti, by **10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026**. The invitation letter was duly served on Pastor Okafor through his legal representative.
The statement disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, **CP Olohundare Jimoh**, has ordered a comprehensive and thorough investigation into the multiple criminal allegations leveled against the pastor. The investigation, the police said, covers alleged capital offences and other serious crimes reported against him.
In furtherance of the investigation, the Commissioner of Police has directed that **full security coverage and protection** be immediately provided for alleged victims. He also encouraged all victims to come forward and report their cases at the SCID, Panti, where the investigation has already commenced.
The Police Command assured the public that the **identities of victims and witnesses will be kept strictly confidential** and adequately protected. Individuals who may have fallen victim to the alleged acts, as well as persons with credible information or evidence relevant to the case, were urged to come forward without fear or intimidation to assist the police.
Such individuals may report directly at the SCID, Panti, or contact the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command.
CP Jimoh further reiterated the commitment of the Command to conduct the investigation in a **professional, transparent, and unbiased manner**, strictly in accordance with the law. He emphasized that no individual is above the law and that sentiments or status will not be allowed to interfere with the pursuit of justice.
“The Lagos State Police Command remains committed to maintaining law and order, public peace, and safety, and to ensuring that all allegations of criminal conduct against any person, regardless of status, are discreetly and thoroughly investigated. Justice must prevail,” the statement concluded.
