INEC Declares APGA Flagbearer, Soludo Winner of Anambra Governorship Election 2025

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared the incumbent Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as the winner of the just concluded Anambra State Gubernatorial Election held on Saturday 8th Novemebr 2025.
Announcing the final results at the INEC collation centre in Awka on Sunday, the State Returning Officer confirmed that Governor Soludo polled a total of 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes. The Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes, while the Labour Party (LP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured 10,576 and 8,208 votes respectively.
Other parties, including the African Action Congress (AAC), trailed with 292 votes.
According to INEC, 2,788,864 voters were registered for the election, out of which 598,229 were accredited. The total number of valid votes stood at 584,054, while 11,244 votes were rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 595,298.
Governor Soludo’s victory marks a reaffirmation of his leadership under the banner of APGA, consolidating the party’s political dominance in Anambra State. The re-elected governor expressed gratitude to Ndi Anambra for their confidence in his administration, pledging to continue his developmental agenda and good governance initiatives.
The election process, according to reports monitored by BSTV News and as captured in a video extract from TVC News Online, was generally peaceful, though with pockets of logistic delays in some polling units.

Meanwhile, political observers have commended INEC for the smooth conduct of the election, noting improvements in voter accreditation and result transmission processes.
With this declaration, Prof. Charles Soludo is set to continue as the Governor of Anambra State, leading the state into another term of governance under APGA.
