PAWAPLUS APP LAUNCHED IN OJODU LCDA; TO SERVE AS SOLUTION TO ELECTRICITY BILLS PAYMENT DIFFICULTIES ACROSS NIGERIA
PawaPlus, a mobile application developed in 2022 has officially launched an IT solution to make energy related transactions for electricity and gas easy for Nigerians. The platform which currently allows both prepaid meter token generation and postpaid meter bills settlement is enriched with many features that guarantees a splendid experience for users.
Mrs Aderemi Apatira, the Chief Executive Officer of PawaPlus said that the app would give Nigerians the opportunity to optimise volume and manage energy easily. She made this known during the official launch of the application and company’s Logo unveiling at Excellence Hotel Ogba on Wednesday 16th February, 2022.
"Beyond the purchase of electricity token on the PawaPlus app, people could also use the PawaPlus App to pay for postpaid meters and get other advantages that has being programmed on the app. The app has other features such as UpNEPA which allows people to set a location and track whether they have light in their areas. Also we are currently on boarding gas retailer on the app so that in the next few months, Nigerians can order for gas without leaving there houses, ” Apatira Avows.
Apatira noted that the app was innovated by a group of Ojodu youths working in the tech space using their skills to solve global problems. She said that the app will soon be updated to have a wallet feature that allows people to save up money for energy, which they could later use to buy electricity or gas when they don’t have cash in the future.

The Chief Technical Officer, Mr Ayodeji Adebayo while addressing a press vonference added that the company also plans to create a Pawacard which one could use to buy fuel at any station across Nigeria.
"This feature is one of the planned updates that will soon be added to other features which the app currently has in place such as PawaNews, Referal Earnings system among others." Adebayo explained.
He also revealed that there is a plan to engage the Nigerian youths in the PawaPlus Merchant package that will soon be reeled out. He noted that the PawaPlus app which was initially uploaded on the Google Play Store and her dedicated website www.pawa.plus for testing on January 1st, 2022 became available on Apple store for iOS devices on February 14th, 2022.
