In celebration of the 61st Independence anniversary of Nigeria as a nation, the council mayor of Ojodu LCDA in a press release from the council's information unit has expressed his hope for a better Nigeria and advicated for peaceful coexistence of citizens from all ethnicities within Nigeria emphasizing that our unity will continue to foster the better country we desire to have.
The Council Chairman, Mr Olusegun Odunmbaku in his remark joined the good people of Ojodu LCDA in celebrating the 61st Independence Anniversary of Nigeria and his statement goes thus:
On this day, we reminiscence about our struggles towards the liberation of the “pride and giant of Africa” and celebrate the birth of freedom and sovereignty. It is a day to emphasize and reaffirm the tenets upon which the structure of our dear nation was built.
Peaceful coexistence, without strife, acrimony, divisiveness or prejudice; unity in diversity; hope for a better future; dutifulness and each contributing his developmental quota in ensuring a prosperous society; hospitality, dedication and selflessness amongst others.
All these should be our watchwords as we strive to surmount seemingly fleeting challenges we might be passing through at the moment, and hope for an assured brighter and rewarding future.
