EDUCATION: OJODU LCDA COUNCIL BOSS RECEIVED IN COMPANY THE EDUCATION SECRETARY OF IKEJA LOCAL GOVERNMENT EDUCATION AUTHORITY
The Education Secretary of Ikeja Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Mr. Amosu Akeem and his emissaries were on a courtesy visit to the office of the Council Mayor of Ojodu LCDA, Mr Segun Odunmbaku on Wednesday the 8th day of September 2021. “I am a product of Vocational Training” said Mr David Olusegun Odunmbaku in his remark during the courtesy visit to him by members of Ikeja LGEA who were on a courtesy visit to the newly elected Council boss.

In the meeting, the lead visitor, Mr. Amosu Akeem expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s warm reception and commitment towards uplifting the standard of basic education within the Ojodu local council. He also took time to point out the mission and aspirations of the LGEA in conformity with the manifesto of the new administration on educational development, stressing that these borders on making learning environment conducive for pupils, encouraging vocational trainings, incorporating the pupils towards acquiring hard skills including ICT skills and more.
In light of this, Amosu further highlighted the need for a befitting sport center which would enable pupils enjoy robust recreational values in addition to their academics and also serve as morale booster for other activities; while also requesting for utility bus for the mobility of monitoring officers of the LGEA and to ensure adequate monitoring of primary schools within Ojodu LCDA.

While responding, the Chairman Mr Segun Odunbmbaku accentuated that all pupils in the primary schools within the LCDA are literally his wards, hence his resolution to prioritize their academics advancement by placing ‘EDUCATION’ as one of the key focus of his administration as enshrined in campaign manifesto which he emphatically enumerated during the electioneering period as H.E.Y.S agenda.
Going forward, Mr Odunmbaku proved his determination for improvement of the education sector by immediately making provision for two security guards for all the primary schools in Ojodu LCDA in order to ensure safety of lives and properties. "In preparation for resumption of activities across all public shools within the LCDA, our government have also commenced clearing of refuse and desilting of drains by environmental officials of the local council in preparation for student's resumption next Monday" said Mr. Chairman.
He further reiterated his commitment towards supporting all ideas or decisions which would aid qualitative education of pupils and also add value to the their lives. He said he's ready to get the State Government and other relevant agencies involved in necessary programmes and interventions, and ensuring that the Vocational Training Center at Shogunro is made available for out-of-school children trainings and retraining of enrolled pupils when on vacation.
Also in attendance at the meeting were some management staff of the council including the Head of Department of Education and Library Services, Mrs Ganiyat Bello; Information Officer, Mrs. Bankole Bukola while Mr Odugbesan Bolaji, Kamaldeen Adetola, Awe Adeyinka, Kehinde Bukola, Adesina Afeez were in the entourage of the Ikeja Education Secretary, Comr. Amosun Akeem.
