Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has just announced the commencement of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccination exercise which is scheduled to start on Wednesday 25th August 2021.
The planned preventive medication exercise will now take place in over 150 vaccination centers across the State - to be announced soon - thus indicating upward review of the number of points of vaccination. The significantly increase of the vaccination centres from 88 to over 150 across the local councils within the State by the State Ministry of Health manned by Professor Abayomi, is to further ensure that the vaccination centers are closer and more accessible to residents at the grassroots and hard to reach areas within the state unlike in recent times.
The State Health Ministry has also reeled out a unique strategy in preparation for commencement of the exercise.
"Since lockdown is no longer realistic, the state government is serious about vaccination and citizen's adherence to the NCDC guidelines. Hence, seamless approach to vaccination is now in place for persons 18 years and above who wish to recieve the covid-19 vaccines. Qualified and interested persons *must* register using this link https://nphcda.vaccination.gov.ng before going to the available centres for vaccination" the commissioner declared.
